Description
From the author: In March 2019, I bought an inexpensive Olympus half-frame film camera. Little did I know that it would accompany me on a life-resetting journey. Every picture I was making with this camera felt like a little whisper. It was as if my eyes were whispering to my heart, a catharsis. December 2022 marked the end of that chapter, a rebirth. Whispers holds subjects dear to me: our relation to time, our life and environment, the people and the places we love (or not), and the transformation of the natural landscape.

About the Photographer
Frederic George Pauwels (b. 1971) is a photographer based in Belgium and Catalonia, Spain. He started collecting pictures and visuals at a young age, with magazines, posters, and vinyl covers being his first source of inspiration in the early 1980s. At 15, he received his first camera and fell in love with the analog photographic process. He started taking pictures and never stopped. Fred graduated in photography in 1993 and began his career in advertising photography, mainly in studios. However, his travels and encounters gradually pushed him towards more human-centered assignments, such as portraits of artists. Since 2020, he has focused on his personal pursuits, exploring our complex relationship with the world. He captures the transformation of the natural landscape and the society we build, the passage of time, and what remains. As he believes, beauty is never far from chaos.
