Description
EDGE.
is a conversation. After 25 years of travelling the world on the edge of the 21st century, cultures continue to speak to one another. In different places and times around all of the continents, these images witness a mosaic of very disparate scenes with silent violence and elegant poetry. Still, they have a lot in common. A link, a family tie.

At the dawn of the 21st century, images are being aggregated in ever-increasing numbers, in ever-more-similar ways, and systematically taken from the same places, and the world, which might then seem larger than ever, is becoming more restricted and catalogued.

In this collection, the pairing of pictures is linked together and mixed – coming from different countries and places – in monochrome and color. As you explore EDGE., you will ask yourself about the definition of difference, culture, and humanity. Each image has an echo in another one, and each image finds an echo in another, reminding us that what makes up these images is not technical, but the result of cultures and habits over the long term.

Finally, by apprehending the collection of images thus presented, the world appears linked, ready to offer itself to the collective conversation.

About the Photographer
Born in 1976 in France. Graduated from art school in 1997. Spent quite an amount of time each year travelling and covering places and taking photos of more than 60 countries on every continent at the edge of a new century.

Believes that understanding the world is the lesson of a lifetime and the interest is people everywhere are experiencing life. Every place, every moment has its interest in this quest, from the most familiar countries and cultures to sometimes the most complex or dangerous places to reach.

Believes that the world is definitely not a place to visit as a tourist, but someone to meet, movements to follow, and light to capture.
